Three people were killed in an explosion which occurred in oil production facility in the eastern province of Batman on Thursday.

The blast happened at oil production facility of Turkish Petroleum Corp. (TPAO) in Kozluk town of Batman, killing at least three people. Officials said that gas entrapment in the facility at Selmo Oil Field might have caused the explosion.

Fire department teams are exerting efforts to put out the fire in the field. Measures were taken against a new explosion, while medical teams were sent to the region.
