Women who immigrate to Turkey from Armenia are mainly engaged in prostitution. This is one of the problems that face Turkish authorities. According to Armenian sources, 5,900 Armenian citizens were deported from Turkey for the last three years.

"Over the past three years, 5,900 citizens who crossed the Turkish border illegally were arrested and deported from the country" it says in a report by the subcommittee of the Turkish Parliament.

In addition, 779 Armenian women engaged in prostitution were deported from Turkey in 2007 while 474 were deported in 2008. 100 Armenian citizens have been deported from the country in 2010.
