By Alimat Aliyeva India already has plans to increase its refining capacity to 300 million tons from the current approximately 252 million tons and is studying the possibility of further expansion, according to Azernews reports. "India's refining capacity is growing from the current 252 million tons, and we already have plans to increase it to 300 million tons. We are also discussing the potential to reach 400 or 450 million tons, as this is closely linked to our petrochemical industry," the minister stated. He did not specify which plants are planned for capacity expansion, but this growth aligns with India's broader strategy to enhance its energy security and become a global hub for refining and petrochemicals. With increasing domestic and international demand, this expansion could position India as one of the world's leading players in the energy sector.
