President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Tuesday to produce and introduce a new generation of biometrics technology-based identity cards.
Under the order, the Cabinet of Ministers will prepare and present to the Azerbaijani President the description, specification and sample of the Azerbaijani citizen`s identity card, which is a microchip.
Information about address of a citizen, his/her marital status as well as fingerprint and other personal biometric indicators will be stored on a microchip.
