The OSCE region has a number of protracted conflicts and those who live in such conditions, waiting us to address the issue, "said UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, speaking at the OSCE summit in Astana.
"The OSCE has a number of protracted conflicts and those who live in these conditions expect us to address the issue to resolve them. And I say that you can count on the UN" - Ban added.
He recalled that this year has been declared the year of women and children by the UN.
"And we can solve these issues [protracted conflicts], sorting out the problems of children and women. Women are the path to peace," - he said.
Among the protracted conflicts at the OSCE summit a special place will be given to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
