Azerbaijani ruling party has started the preparation for parliamentary elections.
The party held zonal meeting in Ganja today.
"Today Ganja hosts workshop-meetings of city and regional organizations of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP). The workshop-meetings will last two days. The purpose of these activities in Ganja is to hold inner-meeting and to start preparation of the party for the forthcoming parliamentary elections," deputy chairman and executive secretary of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Ali Ahmadov said today.
The Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn of this year. The last elections were held in November 2005. The parliamentary elections are held by the majority system in 125 electoral districts in Azerbaijan. Traditionally, NAP starts preparation works much earlier, Ahmedov said.
Another goal of the event held in Ganja is demonstrating the success of the policy pursued under Ilham Aliyev's leadership as Ganja's example. "We will use this as a visual aids in our propagandistic work during the parliamentary elections", Ahmadov said.
After the meeting the NAP leadership has visited national leader Heydar Aliyev's memorial in Ganja and Nizami Ganjavi mausoleum.
