12 May 2010 [16:00] - Today.Az
Today marks 16 years since the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a protocol brokered by Russia, Kyrgyzstan and the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan on May 5, 1994, pursuant to which on May 12 they sides reached an agreement to cease hostilities.
Although 16 years have passed since then, the Armenian side still violates the agreement targeting the Azerbaijani army. About 1,000 monitoring have been held on the contact line since then confirming the ceasefire violations.
