10 February 2010 [13:08] - Today.Az
Member of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (parliament) Asaf Hajiyev says policies of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan have resulted in a deep economic crisis in Armenia.

"Today Armenia survives only through support of Russia and that of Iran to some extent. But, on the other hand, Azerbaijan and Russia have developed warm relations through which Moscow's position on the Karabakh conflict has changed in our favor. Of course, it is still early to say that Moscow has fully altered its position till Azerbaijan recovers control over territories occupied by Armenia. But change is evident,” the MP said.

“Robert Kocharyan’s and Serzh Sargsyan's policies have resulted in a deep economic crisis leading to decrease in the country's GDP by a quarter. One can say that now Armenia is in death-struggle and Yerevan has already began to realize the error in policies pursued by the country’s leadership,” the MP said.

"As for Azerbaijan, it has long pursued a course of economic development. Azerbaijan’s political weight in the world is growing while Armenia is losing its political credibility. The consequence of this is absence of the Armenian President at the recent Munich security conference. Apparently, Yerevan has no words it would like to bring to attention of the international community,” Hajiyev added.
