Japanese ambassador to Azerbaijan says he is hopeful the OSCE Minsk Group's efforts will bring results in near future.
“Japan and Azerbaijan have high-level relations. We need to further extend our relations by establishing communications between the people," said Japanese ambassador to Azerbaijan Masamitsu Oki in his speech at the Strategic Research Center under the President of Azerbaijan.
The ambassador said Azerbaijan should necessarily develop non-oil sector.
“Azerbaijan is luckier than Japan. Your country has natural gas resources. But you need to develop other important spheres like agriculture and echo-technology."
The ambassador urged for solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on basis of international law principles.
“The OSCE Minsk Group has intensified its efforts and I hope these efforts will bring result soon. We don’t participate directly in this process, but call on the sides to make more efforts to settle the conflict," the ambassador noted.
