Advanced Foreign Service Program of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) has held six-month training for the diplomats of Foreign Ministry and 24 civil servants representing other state bodies (State Customs Committee, State Oil Company, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Culture and Tourism Ministry, Ministry of Economic Development).

The program covered five areas which included international affairs, international economy and trade, consulate affairs, public diplomacy, leadership and communication abilities and regional studies.

Teachers and trainers were invited from the leading universities of Europe, USA and Asia.

Visits to the regions, refugee camps and military units, cultural program, meetings with state and diplomatic bodies and debates were organized for the program participants.

The participants selected at the end of the program were sent for one-month practice to Azerbaijan’s embassies in the US, UK, Russia, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland.

Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev and Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadikhov also participated in the certificate awarding ceremony.

Making a keynote speech at the ceremony ADA rector Hafiz Pashayev noted that the friendship among the diplomats and civil servants, who participated in the program, would contribute to increasing the efficiency of cooperation among the state bodies.

About 80 persons have completed ADA’s Advanced Foreign Service Program within the past three years.
