26 October 2009 [14:20] - Today.Az
Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations issued a statement on the news spread by Armenia’s Panarmenian agency that the speech of Azerbaijan’s representative was interrupted in the hearings on “Promotion and protection of children’s rights” at the UN General Assembly Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs Committee (the Third Committee).
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that Azerbaijan’s representative briefed on a work done within the framework of the UN concerning the problem and spoke about the steps taken by Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan’s representative said that occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia also caused serious problems in the humanitarian sphere, children’s rights were violated in this context and finalized his speech.
The news about the speech of Armenia’s representative was also falsified. Armenia’s representative did not attend the general discussions, only expressed his views on the speech of Azerbaijan’s representative.
On his part, Azerbaijan’s representative replied to him.
