Chairman of the Moldovan parliamentary commission for elections Ion Pleshka said it was impossible to hold elections on the non-alternative basis.
Pleshka said the term of registration expired and only leader of Moldovan Democratic Party Marian Lupu submitted his documents to the commission and applied for participation in the elections.
He said the commission would report to the parliament about impossibility of non-alternative elections and then they would schedule new elections.
The commission chairman said Moldovan legislation didn’t allow non-alternative elections.
The presidential elections in Moldova was scheduled to Oct. 23.
