Turkey's President Abdullah Gul headed today for Nakhchivan to attend a meeting of leaders of the Turkish-speaking countries.
At a news conference at Esenboga airport Gul expressed his hope that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will attend the Armenia-Turkey football match, the Turkish CNN Turk TV channel reported.
"I hope the Armenian president will attend the Armenia-Turkey football match. Football is a noble game. I did not set any conditions to Armenia's officials when I headed for Yerevan to attend the football match," Gul said.
The Turkish president said he has sent a formal invitation to the Armenian President to attend the match.
