"Interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Poland are very positive."
"I had been to Azerbaijan twice. In addition, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament also visited Poland," Chairman of the Polish Senate Bogdan Boruzevich told reporters.
"I think that between our countries there is a great level of understanding. We understand each other although Azerbaijan is located far enough from Poland," he added noting that the Caucasus region and Azerbaijan are in the zone of interests of the European Union.
"Eastern Partnership" is very important to us. This enables to strengthen relationship at all possible levels. Also, this is a good opportunity to introduce and reinforce positive changes for the countries invited to the partnership. These ties include not only Poland but also all the EU countries. In addition to the development of economic ties, we also want to encourage local governments in carrying out democratic reforms," said the chairman of the Polish Senate.
He said the "Eastern Partnership" can not be successful without a willingness to cooperate in the partner countries. The principles of free market economy work better than an authoritarian, but in a democratic environment. Authoritarian system always tries to suppress the free market.
"Speaking about Azerbaijan and, in general, the Caucasus, one can not talk about frozen conflicts. "Eastern Partnership" will help develop a good spirit of cooperation in the region," Boruzevich said.
