“Azerbaijan’s law enforcement agencies are fully capable of protecting state borders,” Azerbaijani member of parliament and ruling party official Siyavush Novruzov said while commenting on the Russian Foreign Ministry statement which said a group of mercenaries have been detained while trying to cross Russia-Azerbaijan border.
“Our law enforcement agencies and border forces are investigating the case. I believe that the various dubious persons can not enter the territory of neighboring states via Azerbaijan, on the contrary, saboteurs attempt to enter Azerbaijan from other countries from time to time,” he said.
“Subversive force possibly enter Azerbaijan’s territory from the Russian border and other borders. Recently, Ministry of National Security conducted major operations in Balaken. Individuals who wanted to commit sabotage in Azerbaijan were rendered harmless,” he said.
