There are no Azerbaijani citizens amongst the victims and injured as a result of the unrest in Urumqi, Azerbaijani Ambassador to China Yashar Aliyev said.
The Uighur-Han-Chinese ethnic clash killed 156 people in the administrative centre of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Urumchi, on July 6. Demonstrators burned cars, pulled down police barriers and damaged buses.
Nearly 50 Azerbaijani citizens temporarily living in China have applied to the embassy to assist them to return to their homeland and the embassy is currently engaged in this issue, Aliyev said.
