Ambassador Muhammad Bagir Bahrami is in Tehran to clarify some issues, the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan reported.
"Iranian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan Muhammad Bagir Bahrami is in Tehran with a visit at the moment. I hope the ambassador will return to Baku and continue to fulfill his duties," Press Secretary of the Iranian Embassy in Baku Abbas Iskenderi told Trend News on June 30.
Some media with a reference to reliable sources reported that the Iranian ambassador left Azerbaijan to protest against Israeli President Shimon Peres's visit to Baku.
Peres paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on June 28-29.
