US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse will end her diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan this summer, head of the US Embassy Public Affairs Office Terry Davidson told APA.
The White House announced its intent to nominate Anne Derse for the post of US ambassador to Lithuania.
Terry Davidson said, “The White House on June 4 announced President Obama’s intent to nominate Ambassador Derse as the new ambassador to Lithuania. This is the first step in a process. There will also be a formal nomination by the President, and the nomination must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The timing of those events and Ambassador Derse’s transfer is not yet confirmed, but she will most probably depart Baku this summer.
Anne Derse has been working in Azerbaijan since May 2006. The new US ambassador to Azerbaijan has not been nominated yet.
