According to AzerTac, on March 10 President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived on an official visit to Iran.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, currently in Iran, visited
mausoleum of the leader of Islamic revolution in Iran Imam Homeini on
March 10.
APA reports with reference to the press service for the president that Ilham Aliyev put flowers to the grave.
The President of Azerbaijan was informed about the construction of the
Mausoleum complex. I.Aliyev left a note in the memory book.

According to AzerTac, Azerbaijan and Iran signed 7 intergovernmental agreements in Tehran.
These
include agreement on double tax evasion, protocol of cooperation in
economic and commercial spheres, memorandum of mutual understanding
regarding cooperation in the sphere of tourism, memorandum of mutual
understanding in the sphere of cultural heritage, memo of mutual
understanding on cooperation between the National library of Akhundov
and National Library and Archive of Iran, memo of mutual understanding
regarding cooperation in the statistical sphere between Azerbaijan
state statistical committee and Iranian center of statistics, memo of
mutual understanding on cooperation in postal issues between the
Ministries of Information Technologies and Communication.

Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev stated during his visit to Iran that both
countries have an influential role in ensuring stability and security
in the region.
"The Iran-Azerbaijan relations can serve as an
example for other countries in the region," MEHR quoted Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev as saying in a statement after the meeting with
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Azerbaijani and Iranian
Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mahmoud Ajmadinejad presided over the
discussions between Iranian and Azerbaijani delegations in Tehran on
March 10.
The Presidents debated international and regional issues in a one-hour meeting.
The
Presidents announced in a joint statement that there are no
restrictions for the Iran-Azerbaijan bilateral cooperation. The
cooperation in all fields including economy, politics, culture and
industry is enhancing every day.
The Presidents said the two
countries have great cooperation potential. "Tehran and Baku have a
great potential to deepen cooperation in energy, cargo transportation,
transit, energy, gas and bank sectors," the Presidents said.
Iranian
President said the Western countries intend to export their problems to
Iran and Azerbaijan as well. "We must prevent Iranian and Azerbaijani
nations from being harmed through developing bilateral relations,"
Iranian President added.
Ajmadinejad said Azerbaijan's
development benefits the region. "Iran faces no restrictions to share
its achievements and experience with Azerbaijan," Ajmadinejad said.

to AzerTac, an expanded meeting was held in Tehran with participation
of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran Ilham Aliyev and Mahmud
Ahmedinejad.
The meeting participants voiced satisfaction with
level of development of bilateral relations between the two sides,
stressed availability of good prospects of cooperation in political,
economic and humanitarian ties.
The development of ties of Iran
with different regions of Azerbaijan was stressed, including Nakhchivan
and good opportunities exist in the further development of these
relations.
The meeting participants stressed importance of
implementation of definite projects in the sphere of economy and energy
between the two countries considering the development of cooperation.
As
is reported, the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Iran will
contribute to further deepening of bilateral relations. The
availability of rich history of cultural ties between the peoples of
Azerbaijan and Iran was stressed at the meeting and the need for
expansion of humanitarian ties was mentioned.
It was noted that
documents, planned for signing in the framework of the visit of the
head of the state to Iran will promote further deepening of legal basis
of bilateral ties. The meeting participants exchanged views regarding
prospects of bilateral relations and voiced confidence about the
further expansion of mutual ties.

The one-on-one meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran Ilham Aliyev and Mahmud Ahmedinejad was held, according to AzerTac.
The
meeting participants stressed the successful development of the
bilateral relations of both countries in different spheres, including
political, economic and humanitarian.
Speaking of the importance
of the official visit of President of Azerbaijan to Iran, the heads of
the states noted that this visit will promote further expansion of
mutual ties.
The meeting participants voiced confidence about further strengthening of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations.

honor guard was lined in honor of the head of the state at the Tehran
airport "Mehrabad". Ilham Aliyev was welcomed by Iranian Foreign
Minister and other officials.

of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today headed for an official visit to
Iran, according to the official website of the president.
According
to AzerTac, at the airport the head of the state was seen off by head
of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehtiyev and
head of the Baku mayor's office Hajibala Abutalibov.
