First secretary of the standing representative office of Azerbaijan under UN Oqtay Ismailzade has been elected deputy chairman of the UN disarmament commission, said the press service for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
As is reported, he was elected for this position at the recent session of the commission. Polish representative under UN is elected as the chairman of the commission and Netherlands representative as a rapporteur.
