An attempt of the Musavat party youth organization to hold an unsanctioned protest in front of the National Television and Radio Council was dispersed in Baku on January 21, said deputy chairman of the youth organization Ahad Mamedli.
He said the action was planned to be held as a protest against the decision of the National Council to close foreign stations Azadlyg, VOA and BBC in Azerbaijan.
"When the party activists started to chant their slogans, the party interfered with the action and dispersed it. Seven activists of the youth organization were taken to 39th police station of the Sabail region. Chairman of the youth organization Tural Abbasly was also detained", noted he.
Notably, the Baku mayor's office rejected to sanction the protest in front of the National Television and Radio Council stating that it is inexpedient to hold it.
