Regnum reports with reference to Turkish Hurriyet newspaper that according to Turkish Foreign Ministry, Turkish President Abdullah Gul accepted invitation of the Armenian President to attend the Armenia-Turkey match in Yerevan.

However, Armenian side has not yet received an official confirmation.

Panorama.am reports with reference to Turkish Vatan newspaper that Turkish President Abdullah Gul will visit Armenia to attend the upcoming match of the football teams of Armenia and Turkey to be held in Yerevan on September 6.

In line with the source, Gul will attend the match and return home later the same day. The newspaper also reads that the presidential administration will soon make an official declaration on this issue.

At the same time, Francpress agency reports that the office of the Turkish President did not confirm the publication of the Vatan newspaper, noting, however, that "if the visit really takes place, it will promote improvement of the relations between the neighbor states".

President of Turkey Abdullah Gul will visit Armenian capital on September 6, reports Regnum with reference to the reliable sources in the Armenian government.

According to the source, the presidential guard will arrive in Yerevan on August 31-September 1.

It should be reminded that Gul will visit Armenia for the first time since the country gained independence by invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

It is planning that the presidents of the two countries will watch the qualifier match between the national football teams of Armenia and Turkey.

It should be reminded that Armenia and Turkey do not maintain diplomatic relations, with border between them closed due to the continued occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia.
