A one-on-one meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of Hungary Laszlo Solyom, held in the framework of Ilham Aliyev's visit to Hungary, ended yesterday.
A source from the Hungarian Presidential Palace told APA that the meeting continued with participation of the delegations.
The meeting focused on the main prospects of bilateral cooperation. At the end of the meeting three interstate agreements were signed on bilateral cooperation.
These are an agreement on economic cooperation between the two countries, an agreement on cooperation between Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Transport and Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy and an agreement on elimination of double taxation.
The foreign ministries of the two countries adopted a joint declaration.
Following the signing ceremony, presidents Ilham Aliyev and Laszlo Solyom held a press conference.
The Azerbaijani President said the talks were successful and significant.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the sides reached an agreement on working at joint projects and paying mutual official visits within a year.
The head of state also underlined that Azerbaijan plays an important role in reducing Europe’s dependence on energy sources.
The president invited Hungarian President for an official visit to Azerbaijan.
Laszlo Solyom said Hungary recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and supports the efforts of OSCE Minsk Group in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
According to the Hungarian President, Azerbaijan’s economy is growing rapidly and there are favorable conditions for making investments in the country.
The sides underlined the necessity to continue cooperation for strengthening bilateral relations in the future.
