Faramaz Novruzoglu, pardoned reporter of the Nota Bene newspaper, is threatened with death, Day.Az reports with reference to Azerbaijan Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.

Novruzoglu said he received several calls from an unknown number on February 10,11,12 and 13.

"The calls did not came from one and the same person, as voices were different. They demand from me to stop posting the novel "Tragedy of the Gyzlar spring"  in the newspaper. They told me that my killers will not be found like those of Elmar Guseynov. They said they will kidnap my children", Novruzoglu noted.

He said he had appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Republican Prosecutor's Office and Ministry of National Security.

According to him, the novel "Tragedy of the Gyzlar spring" features the events which occurred in Azerbaijan within the last 20-30 years and is based on real facts.

It should be reminded that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev passed a decree to pardon 119 prisoners, including F.Novruzoglu on December 28 of 2007.
