President of Austria Heinz Fischer met with Azerbaijani ambassador in Austria Fuad Ismayilov on the sidelines of the New Year’s reception for members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Austria.
The sides discussed the ways of developing ties between the two nations and strengthening energy cooperation.
During the event, Austria President’s message was read out to ambassadors of 121 countries.
The President informed about main directions of the policy that Austria would pursue towards Balkan nations, EU countries, Middle East and Africa and country’s intention to nominate itself as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
