Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Elmar Mammadyarov in a meeting with Chief of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarghami underlined the reinforcement of the Tehran-Baku relations.

Mammadyarov termed the visit of the two countries' presidents as very positive, calling for promotion of ties.

The minister added Baku and Tehran have adopted common and independent stances on many issues and Azerbaijan has in many cases backed the stances of Iran, as a friendly and neighboring country.

He also welcomed the media cooperation and transfer of information technology (IT) between the two countries, asking for creation of a framework to this end.

The IRIB chief pointing to the close relations between Iran and Azerbaijan said, "In fact, the two nations' common interests steer us toward the development of amicable ties."

Zarghami called the two states' relations developed, adding it deems necessary to boost relations in the media field especially radio and television networks.

The IRIB chief added the sincerity between Iranian and Azerbaijani peoples requires the two states to promote their cooperation in the communications sector particularly media. IRNA
