A 6-member delegation of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan headed by Mr.Eldar Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Parliamentary Working Group and Head of the Standing Commission on Agrarian Policy is arriving here today on a five-day official visit to Pakistan.

The invitation has been extended to the delegation by the Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed.

During its stay in the country, the delegation will call on the Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, besides holding a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate and addressing a joint Press Conference with the Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mushahid Hussain Syed on December 1, 2006.

It would also participate in a round table discussion on "Azerbaijan and Regional Energy Scenario" at the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan will also host a reception in the honour of the visiting delegation. The delegation, during its stay, will also visit Lok-Virsa & Taxila Museum.

The delegation included Ms. Rabiyyat Aslanova, Chairwoman of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, Mr. Hadi Rajabli, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Social Policy, Mr. Isa Habibbeyli, Member of National Assembly, Mr. Asim Mollazada, Member of National Assembly and Ms. Aynur Nurahmadova, Senior Adviser of the International Relations Department of National Assembly.
