The officers of Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey will meet with Elif Pelit who was extradited to Turkey recently, Justice Ministry International Cooperation Department chief Zaver Gafarov told.

Turkey government guaranteed that Elif Pelit will not meet any torture in Turkey, APA reports.

"We hold monitoring concerning this case and agreed with Turkey government. We will get information about his detention conditions, his health, tortures and some other issues," he said.

It should be noted that, Elif Pelit was wanted because of participating in the armed group against Turkey. After his arrest in Azerbaijan, Turkey Justice Ministry appealed to some organizations for extraditing him.

He was extradited according to the decision of Grievous Crime court and Europe Convention of 1957. But UNO Higher Commissioner for Refuges (UNOHCR) was against of his extradition. Gafarov said that Pelit did not have refugee status in Azerbaijani territory.

"He had refugee status only in Germany territory. We did not recognize him as refugee," Gafarov said.
