Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is in Antalya, Turkey, to participate in the eighth Summit of the Heads of Turkish-speaking States, met with President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the level of the bilateral cooperation between their countries. President Bakiyev said 20,000 Azerbaijanis reside in Kyrgyzstan, stressing their role in his country's economic development. President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan plans to open its embassy in Kyrgyzstan, and added this will contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations. The pair also discussed prospects for energy cooperation. Both leaders stressed the importance of the Antalya Summit. AzerTAg
