President Ilham Aliyev on October 6 received the heads of CIS Security and Special Service Bodies.
The participants emphasized importance of close cooperation of the security and special service bodies of the Commonwealth member states. President Ilham Aliyev stressed necessity of strengthening contacts among partner countries, exchange of operational data, and consultations in the period when the international terrorism, illegal drug circulation and organized crimes are widely spread on the world. Head of the Azerbaijan State said cooperation promotes stability, tranquility, international safety and expansion of economic relations. From this point of view, the President said, Azerbaijan holds active position in the CIS frame. Azerbaijan has suffered from the Armenian terrorism. Not any county, in private, can fight international terrorism, he underlined. The President appraised conducting next meeting of the Council of Heads of the CIS Security and Special Service Bodies in Baku, marking that it is the assessment to principle position of Azerbaijan. President Aliyev requested the meeting participants to convey his greetings and best wishes to the heads of Commonwealth. Nikolay Patrushev, director of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Chairman of the Council of Heads of the CIS Security and Special Service Bodies expressed gratitude for cordial reception on behalf of the meeting participants. Spain, Denmark, France and Germany take part in the meeting with the observer status, he said. "Due to effective cooperation among the CIS Security and Special Service Bodies, it became possible to organize a joint operation of the structures of 5-7 countries," Patrushev underlined. At his words, next meeting of the Council will be held in May in St. Petersburg. AzerTAg
