EU trio held press conference on the results of their visit to Azerbaijan.
The diplomats said the action plan considering the cooperation with Azerbaijan and other South Caucasus countries have been agreed and it will bring peace to the region, APA reports. The plan envisages five-year cooperation. The implementation of the plan will be checked every six month. If one of the sides does not implement commitments, the plan will stop operating. The diplomats also said the action plan bases on Europe Union sovereignty and territorial integrity values. To journalists' question "How can Azerbaijan cooperate with the state violating its territorial integrity?" the diplomats said OSCE Minsk Group deals with the solution of Nagorno Garabagh conflict and they support the organization activity in this problem. The trio representatives also commented on Turkey membership to EU. "Turkey needs at least 10 years to become EU member. The EU put forward conditions to Turkey. One of them is to restore relations with Cyprus. If Turkey does not recognize Ankara Protocol, it will face problems in membership," they said.
