Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Atilla Koch attended a meeting held at the Union of Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen (TUSIAB).
At the meeting TUSIAB Management Board chair Batachar Baysal said consolidation of relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan is of great importance. He also referred to the differences between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the tourism field. "Tourism is historically deep-rooted in Turkey. This sphere has not developed in Azerbaijan while it has wonderful geography. Turkey’s lessons in the tourism should be learned in discovery of the tourism sector of Azerbaijan and in making Azerbaijan world-known." He underscored that Azerbaijan's tourism sector has a great investment capacity. Atilla Koch said a number of countries ask Turkey for help with development of tourism and Turkey is ready to contribute to Azerbaijan in the development of tourism. He pointed out the important factors for the development of this sphere. "Very beautiful places of interest are not enough unless there are roads to these places, hotels for tourists. Now Azerbaijan has such hotels and roads. It is also necessary for these hotels to have professional personnel." He recommended Azerbaijan not to repeat once mistakes of Turkey, to learn the lessons of Turkey and to efficiently apply these experiences in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
