"My next visit to Azerbaijan has not been specified yet. I have been to Azerbaijan several times and I liked your country. So, I want to be there to see Baku again," Terry Davis, Secretary General of Council of Europe told.
The Secretary General feared his visit to Azerbaijan might arouse jealousy in other member states, "I need to be careful with regard to my visit to Azerbaijan as it may arouse jealousy. I am interested in all of the three South Caucasus states. I must say political parties, NGOs and government representatives meet me with respect in Azerbaijan." Mr.Davis also said he shows a great respect to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports. "Your President is very respectable for me. Mr. Aliyev is making many efforts to modernize the country. Despite the opposition’s criticism of the President, I have much respect to your opposition too. Azerbaijan is one of the countries that have a very good cooperation with the Council of Europe. The government is cooperating with us in high level," he underlined.
