Iranian law enforcement bodies prohibited Azerbaijanis to use satellite dishes.

After the 22 May events, Iranian police began to take satellite antennas from Azerbaijanis in South Azerbaijan's cities, Sirus Azadi, World Azerbaijanis Congress Managing Staff member told the APA.

"Azerbaijanis who use satellite antennas are arrested and fined of great sum. Our counterparts living in South Azerbaijanis realized their national identity, language, culture, history and being Turks from Gunaz TV. The chauvinist regime seeing that it cannot ban Gunaz TV began banning satellite dishes for Azerbaijanis as well as arresting and fining them. However, Persians are allowed to use it freely. They are not fined for that," he said.

Sirus Azadi calls for international organizations to denounce this step by the Iranian regime.
