Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov ended his official visit in Sweden.

The Ministry Press Center told the APA Mr. Mammadyarov had talks with his Swedish counterpart Jan Eliasson.

During the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Sweden, which was OSCE mediator on Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 1989-1990 and which played a part in achieving of a ceasefire in 1994, the sides exchanged views on the role of international organizations in resolving the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, development prospects of mutual and many-sided cooperation, economic relations, cooperation within the European Union and new neighborhood policy as well as Azerbaijan's role in the region and it relationships with neighbors and UN reforms.

It was also stated in the meeting Azerbaijani embassy will be opened in Sweden by the end of this year.

Mr.Eliasson stressed the importance of increasing the role of international organizations to peacefully resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict as soon as possible.
Swedish Foreign Minster also expressed concern over recent devastating fires in the Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani territories adding this matter will be in the center of attention of Swedish diplomacy, in particular in his attention as a chairman of UN General Assembly.

Azerbaijani and Swedish Ministers held a joint press conference in the end of the meeting.

During his stay in Sweden, Mammadyarov also met with several officials, including OSCE General Assembly chairman & OSCE special representative for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, parliamentarian Goran Lenmarker as well as Azerbaijanis living in Sweden.
