A conference of Prosecutor-generals of Council of Europe member countries on the subject "The role of Prosecutor-generals in defense of personality" has started in Moscow.

APA reports quoting Russian press that, 44 prosecutor-generals from 46 Council of Europe member countries participate in the conference. Council of Europe deputy secretary general Ms. Mod de-Bur-Bukikko opened the conference.

Chairing the conference prosecutor-general of Russia Yuri Chayka stated that in the conference role of prosecutor generals in defense of personality as well as witnesses rights protection will be discussed.

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammerberg also participates at the conference. After the conference a Consultative Council of prosecutors' first meeting will be held. According to the information given to APA by Procesutor's Office delegation headed by Zakir Garalov represents Azerbaijan in this conference.
