Iran is interested in joint operation of hydrocarbon resources, as well as Reservoir Alov (Flame), in moot areas of the Caspian Sea. Mahmud Khagani, Caspian Region officer of the Ministry of Energetics of Iran, stated.
"I always say in my speeches that hydrocarbon resources discovered here belong to nations of the region and we must use them for the wealth of peoples. Southern parts of the Caspian Sea are explored at present. It is very hard to operate that deep part of the sea. Another question that may give a push to joint work relates to the legal status of the Caspian Sea." Iranian officer supposes that it is very vital to improve other spheres in mutual understanding besides oil sphere of the sea, APA reports. "Companies in the region wishing to make investments into oil and gas sector must be involved into the process."
