Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written a letter to U.S. President George W. Bush with proposals for solving ongoing international disputes, an Iranian government spokesman said Monday.

Gholam-Hossein Elham said, "The president of Iran has written letters to several heads of states, including U.S. President George Bush, which will be sent via the Swiss Embassy in Iran."

The spokesman said the letter included new means of resolving several international issues, RIA Novosti informs.

The foreign ministers of the six negotiating nations on Iran's nuclear program will meet later on Monday in New York to discuss means of resolving the situation.

The UN Security Council is currently considering a resolution drafted by the United States, Britain and France that could see economic sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic for its failure to cooperate fully and openly with the UN's nuclear watchdog.

Russia has consistently been against the imposition of sanctions over Iran's controversial nuclear program.

President Ahmadinejad confirmed on Thursday that Iran planned to accomplish uranium enrichment on an industrial scale.
