Abbas Abbasov visited Kiev.

Anatoliy Kinakh, the Secretary of the Ukrainian Council of National Security and Defense (CNSD), noted that Ukraine regarded the cooperation with Azerbaijan in fuel and energy complex as priority and was interested in the activization of the bilateral dialogue in this direction, Trend reports referring to the press service of CNSD, which quots Kinakh as saying at a meeting with Abbas Abbasov, the Azerbaijani First Vice-Primer, Trend reports.

Ukraine is interested in attraction of Azerbaijan to the implementation of the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk oil pipeline project. The sides also touched upon possibility of implementation of joint projects on development of the infrastructure on the Black Seat coast of Ukraine.

During the meeting Kinakh and Abbasov confirmed their interest in deepening and development of the strategic partnership. The Secretary of CNSD mentioned dynamic growth of the bilateral goods turnover and stressed that in 2005 the figure between the countries increased by 36.9% as compared 2004.

During the meeting Abbasov and Kinakh discussed the course of the preparations for the seventh meeting of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission. It will allow the sides to determine perspective directions of the bilateral cooperation between the countries. They regard energy and military-technical complexes, aviation and shipbuilding fields, transport infrastructure, construction, small and medium-seize business as perspective directions of the bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting Kinakh and Abbasov also considered preparations for the visit of the Ukrainian President to Azerbaijan and holding of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum within the visit, UNIAN reports.
