Ex-minister for labor and social protection of population, Ali Naghiyev will be appointed Azerbaijani extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belarus. The Head of state is expected to sign an order about it.

As APA reports citing the spokesman of Foreign Ministry Tahir Taghizade, he was not informed about it and added it is one of the responsibilities of the President to appoint an Ambassador.

Azerbaijani 8 ambassadors to foreign countries were high-ranking officials at different times. Former prosecutor-general Eldar Hasanov is Ambassador to Romania, ex-Foreign Ministers Hasan Hasanov in Hungary, Tofig Zulfugarov in Latvia and Vilayet Guliyev in Poland. Ex-Minister of National Security, Namig Abbasov in Uzbekistan, ex-Culture Minister Polad Bulbulohlu in Russia, ex-Vice-speakers Yashar Aliyev in China and Tamerlan Garayev is Ambassador to India now.
