Visiting Azerbaijan a delegation of the Conference of the Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations of the United States, in particular, Chairman of the Conference of Presidents Harold Tanner, Executive Vice-chairman Malcolm Hoenlein, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Mikhail Chlenov held a conference on February 13.

As AzerTAg reports, it was noted during the news conference that the delegation met with President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and other top officials. In particular, Malcolm Hoenlein said that this visit would give a kick-start to developing relations among the USA, Israel and Azerbaijan Governments and peoples. He was strongly impressed with the level of tolerance towards other religions and peoples in Azerbaijan.

In terms of geopolitics, economy, Azerbaijan, according to M. Hoenlein, is a vital country and report to be presented to the White House and Department of State will set out what the delegation saw and witnessed in Azerbaijan.

As to the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the guest supported fair resolution efforts. With USA, Israel and Azerbaijan, all suffering from terrorism, the nations should concert their efforts to fight this evil.

M. Hoenlein said American Jewish community's working hard both in the Congress and Administration to repeal section 907.
