The Baku-Habar newspaper editor-in- chief, a former member of the supreme melis of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Aydin Guliyevannounced of his resignation from the party.

Aydin Guliyev told Trend the reason for this is the DPA first deputy Sardar Jalalaoglu "monopolizing the party and turning it into the victim of its interests".

"Sardar Jalaloglu and his supporters in the DPA Baku office did not give the opportunity to put on voting the address on vote of credit to the DPA chairman Rasul Guliyev at the party's supreme mejlis sitting. Thus, they actually did not create conditions for approving the official decision that Guliyev is the party's chairman and leader and giving his another vote of credit," Guliyev stressed.

"As long as this policy of the group goes on I cannot remain in DPA," he said.
