A conference on illegal proliferation of small arms and light weapons will be held in June-July with participation of UN member countries.
As APA informs, proliferation and hiding of light and offensive weapons as well as selling of zenith-missile complex artillery will be discussed at the conference. Questions on legalization of secret weapon trade, restriction of weapon trade with conflicting sides are expected to be raised at the conference.
The sources says that Azerbaijani side will raise questions on Russia's supply to Armenia with the modern weapons and military equipments in open and secret way by violating non-proliferation of light weapons treaty in Europe as well as provision of separatist forces in Nagorno Karabakh with Russia and Armenia. Foreign Ministry told that Azerbaijani delegation would attend the conference, but didn't give information about Azerbaijan's steps in the said above realm. It should be noted that, according to the calculation of experts, $1-2 billions of illegal weapon trade falls on the share of stable countries, $5 billions on the countries with military conflicts. Every year US gains $1.2 billion from illicit trade of light weapons and Russia's profit is about $100-150 millions.
