06 February 2006 [03:33] - Today.Az
The regular meeting of the Majlis of the Musavat Party was held yesterday. The agenda of the meeting included the public-political situation, discussion of the action plan of the Party for 2006, next congress of the Party and current issues.

As APA reports, the Head of the Party Isa Gambar made a speech in the meeting and expressed his attitude to the recent situation concerning the Nagorno Karabakh issue. Following it, he said that papers close to allied parties should focus their attention on this issue instead of the issue on Musavat's participation in the re-elections and Parliament.

I.Gambar noting the parliamentary elections had been falsified and participation of the deputies in the parliament or not would not change anything, said that he supported participation both in the repeated elections and parliament: "After analyzing all processes and facts, I made this decision. I do not accept legitimacy of this authority. But we work on the basis of the laws adopted by this authority independent of our will. Our allies allow falsifications and diversions against us in this issue. If some persons say that they leave the party in case the Majlis adopts a decision on the issue concerning participation in the parliament, those persons should not wait for the decision; they can leave the Party now. The Party is not property of anybody and all decisions are made collectively. We will obey the decision the Majlis will adopt".

I.Gambar said that their allies had no arguments and therefore, they blackmailed Musavat.

Following the speech by I.Gambar, the MPs gave their talks. Most of the speakers supported participation of the deputies in the Parliament, Party's joining the re-elections and participating in formation of election commissions. Gubad Ibadoghlu and Sulhaddin Akbar said that there's no need to adopt the decision on this issue in the Majlis. G.Ibadoghlu noted that the decision should be made by the deputies and Sulhaddin Akbar said that the decision should be adopted by the Divan after consultations with allied parties.

The MP Tahir Abbas commenting on that the Musavat party held a different opinion in the 2000 parliamentary elections said that the mandate given to PFPA members at that time had been a gift from the authority: "That is why Musavat completely declined participation in the parliament at that time. But in these elections the members of Musavat who gained the mandate of deputy were elected by voters. Because they gained their mandate in a democratic manner, they must join the work of the parliament".

Finally, as the result of the discussions, participation of Musavat in the work of Parliament, as well as in the re-elections, was accepted by the Party.
