The Information Office of the Council of Europe (CE) hosted a meeting of the co-chairs of "Azadliq" bloc and CE officials on Friday.

Attending the meeting were the CE co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan, Andreas Gross and Andreas Herkel, the head of the PACE observation mission in Azerbaijan, Leo Platvoet on one side and Isa Gambar leader of Musavat, Ali Karimli, the chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), and Sardar Jalaloglu, the vice-chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) on another.

After the meeting Jalaloglu told journalists that they discussed the November 6 parliamentary elections, mass actions held by the opposition, as well as the decision of the Constitution Court on the results of the parliamentary elections. Jalaloglu said that the CE representatives were informed about frauds committed in constituencies by elections commissions during the elections. The guests were also informed about results of the November 26 opposition rally.

The co-chairs evaluated the rejection of the Baku City Executive Power to allow "Azadliq" bloc to hold a rally on December 3, as an act contradicting to the Constitution and to the right for freedom of assembly.
