The "Azadliq", "Yeni Siyaset" ["YeS"] blocs, National Unity Movement and several NGO representatives held today a press-conference where they accused international organizations and the special representative of the European Union on Southern Caucasus Heike Talvitie of conforming with election falsifications.

The first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan Sardar Jalaloglu speaking at the conference said that falsification facts presented to courts are not being investigated. Jalaloglu accusing the Central Election Commission informed that the results of the constituencies and precincts where the opposition won the elections had been nullified. He also noted that the opposition will continue to hold peaceful actions: "We support peaceful actions. We want to struggle in a peaceful form. This struggle continues and will continue".

Jalaloglu also noted that they are disappointed in the West: "Some international organizations display interest to the authorities. We always relied on the West, but they sold democracy at the last moment. That is why we should use new methods of pressure on them".

The "YeS" member, chairman of the National Independence Party Ali Aliyev stressed that there is a probability of breeding strife in the opposition. According to the words of A.Aliyev also supporting peaceful actions, the opposition must pressure the international organizations and embassies of foreign countries acting in Azerbaijan parallelly with stressing the importance of holding mass demonstrations. "Each international organization holds different position in Azerbaijan. They must be pressured in order to give up displaying interest to the both sides," stated Aliyev.

The "Musavat" head Isa Gambar also declared that they do not intend a revolution: "We do not want a revolution. We want anything to be in a peaceful manner. We obtained unity as a political force on the eve of these elections. We should preserve this unity and develop the struggle in a more organized way".

The right defenders speaking at the press-conference proposed opposition to take more concrete steps, withdrawing the representatives from the CEC and constituency election commissions and oppositionists’ whose victory had been asserted expressing their decisive positions.

The right defender Ilgar Ibrahimli accused some European and Turkish observers following the elections in Azerbaijan of paying no heed to election falsifications. According to Ibrahimli even the special representative of the European Union on Southern Caucasus Heike Talvitie is on this list since the post-elections statement of this person does coincide with the opinions of the representatives of OSCE and other structures.
