11 November 2005 [20:39] - Today.Az
The period of accreditation of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will end on January 28, 2006.

According to the member of the delegation of Milli Majlis in PACE Asim Mollazade newly-formed Milli Majlis must elect the new delegation to PACE and pass accreditation after January 28.

It should be noted that offers were advanced in PACE sessions on not accrediting the delegation of Azerbaijan for the next time since some of the obligations undertaken before CE by Azerbaijan had not been implemented.

After the November 6 parliamentary elections the co-raporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel said that violations had happened in the elections and noted that the question on Azerbaijan’s participation in PACE remains still open.

The fortune of the Azerbaijani delegation will be decided at the PACE January session where the results of the elections will be discussed.
