The awaited trial on extradition of Rasul Guliev, the chairman of the oppositional Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, detained by the International Police started today with a two hours of a delay. The delay was cause by the fact that all documents were in English and had to be translated and confirmed. The documents indicated that Rasul Guliyev was a refugee under UN jurisdiction.

Then the court announced 1.5-hour break for the sitting to be started again at at 5 p.m. [local time]. However the sitting started again with a two hours delay.

The decision of the Zhelesnodoroznyi district court in Simferopol, Ukraine on detention of the chairman of the oppositional Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Rasul Guliyev by Interpol will be announced on 20 October 2005 at 12.00 of Baku time.
