“Conducting meetings and round tables between the authority and opposition parties most probably will take place after the parliamentary elections.

The parties are busy with the election process at the moment, and there is no time for the meetings. On the other hand, I consider that the format of the meetings to be conducted after the elections will change a lot”.

This was told to APA by the deputy of the executive secretary of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Bahar Muradova.

According to her words, the head of the OSCE Baku office Maurisio Pavesi’s informing that there is no need of conducting meetings at present moment shows that this position is right. B.Muradova informing that YAP is always interested in establishing mutual normal relations said that this position will be continued: “But my personal opinion is that no meetings will be conducted till the elections. YAP demands conducting meetings without participation of PFPA and the “Azadlig” bloc informs that they will not join any meeting without PFPA. In this case, it is not convincing to think that the meeting will take place.

There is also no need to distract attention from the elections. That is why probably other parties will participate in the meeting to be carried out after the elections. We suppose that the radical opposition will weaken after these elections and then their influence on public processes will be equal to zero and there will be no need to conduct any meeting just with them”. B.Muradova even said that the hypothetical circle of the parties to participate in the meetings to be conducted after the elections is known: “Newly registered parties can be included here”.

As to the opinion of the YAP representative not considering the necessity of thinking about talks at the moment, it is wrong to direct attention to the “Azadlig” bloc in connection with the meetings. As to existing of any connection between Musavat Party’s delaying organization of the meeting for two months and P.Maurisio’s position, B.Muradova excludes it.

As to her opinion, the reason of Musavat’s delaying the meeting was connected with party’s not having ability and interest in organizing this meeting: “We do not see any needs to conduct any discussions in the following processes with the party which delays the dialogue for its ambitions. We demonstrated our being interested in continuation of the meetings many times. This position will be continued forward, too. Obscure activity not only of Musavat, but also of the “Azadlig” bloc in connection with breaking of these meetings will be revealed in the course of time”.
