Local people call the town simply Lenkor.
Everything in Lenkor is very pleasant: nature, sea, cuisine, communication with people.
The town has managed to preserve the manners of a khanate capital to the present day.
It is the homeland of such World War I and II Generals as the Talysinskis, Samadbay Mehmandarov, Hazi Aslanov, etc.
The locals are perhaps the warmest, kindest, most hospitable and sincere people in the world.
Real Lankaranians are often described as “Khan Lankaranians” for their generosity, aristocracy and diligence.
